This is the best way to put out a story to make an impact - INTERACTIVE , RELATABLE and IMPACTFUL.
For this project, the cards are designed slightly bigger than the actual dimensions of the tarot card. The boarders are kept strong around the picture plane depicting polaroids - meaning a moment in time (past, present). It also is made to look like a photo frame in itself depicting the character’s life and could be used as just photographs.
The cards are designed in the way that speak out the story. There are a lot of hidden symbols in the illustrations which supports the story. However, these cards could be used as simply just tarot cards and not the character’s story. These are extremely engaging and participating and therefore, becoming very personal to the person reading it.
The Strength - self doubt, Low energy, Raw emotion. The character is introduced as a negative person.
The Hermit - Isolation, Loneliness, With-drawl. The character is introduced as a negative person.
The Lovers Finds her first love before Indonesia. The character is seen to be going to emotional changes.
The Empress - Her first drink before Thailand. The character is seen to be going to emotional changes.
The Judgement - her first tattoo before Hong Kong. The character is seen to be going to physical changes.
The World - Her first piercing before South Korea. The character is seen to be going to physical changes.
The Magician - she loses her mother before Japan. The character is seen to be going to hell in terms of her emotional aspect.
The Hanged- Man - she goes through a break up; heartbreak before Singapore. The character is seen to be going to hell in terms of her emotional aspect.
The Fool - becomes reckless, held back and no work at all. The character is seen to be too broken to continue her life.
The Death - becomes very resistant to change, slight transformation. The character is seen to be too broken to continue her life.
The Hierophant - meets someone unexpectedly and ends up being saved from killing herself. The character is seen to be emerging back to top.
The Emperor - Saved from dying and change of perspective to life. The character is seen to be emerging back to top.
STORY LINE
The element about the story is going be her taking a flight to different places and it changes her life The story is going to be divided into 3 parts - THE START, THE MIDDLE, THE END.
THE START is where she is going to reveal her identity and personality traits. She is this teenager who is very immature in her decision making. She has negative outlook to life. She loses people because of they way she treats them. Even though she has everything in her life, she is never content.
THE MIDDLE is where we see her exploring her ways through life. She is travelling around the world (symbolic to finding herself) for different purposes and prior to every flight, there is something that’s changing herself a little. Like the first time, she has her first drink. The second time, she gets her first love. The third time, a piercing. The fourth time, a tattoo and so on. This brings new changing in her life however, she never acknowledges it.
THE END is where she is about to end herself but meets this out of the blue person who knocks sense in her mind and makes her realise life is worth living. She realises that unknowingly she took charge of her changes in life in the past and thus can do it in present and future. The end will be - SHE IS NOT SAVED FROM DEATH BUT SAVED FROM DYING. ( implying she is rescued from her thoughts and is not dead before dying. ) ( She is saved from her own thoughts and negative outlook. )
